A transdisciplinary project that aims to advance river monitoring in Sarno River specific to pollution events, with a special focus on macroplastics, utilizing optical camera systems and citizen science. This project involves a consortium of four Italian universities, government agencies, and civic society.


This project aims to advance the research capability of the ADNU Civil Engineering and Architecture Department in Recycled Concrete Research through the establishment of a one-of-a-kind laboratory in the Philippines, with the main goal to reach commercialization level for recycled concrete. Funding acquired from the Department of Science and Technology (approx. 72K euros).


A transdisciplinary project that aims to create a self-sustaining, Disaster-Resilient house made of Recycled Coarse Aggregate Concrete (RCAC) with clean water system, built-in rainwater catchment facility, aquaponics system, solar-powered radio communication system, domestic liquid waste treatment system, mobile cloud technology and communal cooking area with a water heater. Funding acquired from the international donors of Ateneo de Naga University (approx. 30k euros).


Assisted in project initiatives through the implementation of the Solar Clean Water System as post-typhoon response in various communities in Camarines Sur, Bicol, and the publication of a book promoting community resilience, and the role of mangroves in climate change adaptation and mitigation entitled “Mari for the Coasts”.
